Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

Under the general supervision of the Cybersecurity Coordinator, the Office 365 Security Administrator plays a key role in securing our Office 365 setup. This position involves numerous essential responsibilities focused on keeping our Office 365 services protected, confidential, and consistently available, thereby guaranteeing their efficient and secure performance in alignment with our organizational goals.

 

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing user account lifecycle management, allocation licences and subscription, and configuring user roles and permission across the organization while also conducting access reviews to ensure appropriate access levels are maintained.
  • Lead the deployment and ongoing management of SharePoint Online, emphasizing the strategic setup of user roles, enhancing file sharing capabilities, and ensuring the seamless integration with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and OneDrive for Business. This includes fulfilling all essential duties of a SharePoint Administrator to guarantee robust, secure, and effective document and intranet service management.
  • Work closely with different departments to identify their needs related to SharePoint, File sharing, and Office 365 projects, and suggest tailored solutions based on their feedback. Additionally, focus on creating detailed documentation specifically for these projects as a core duty.
  • Implement and oversee comprehensive security measures across all Office 365 applications to safeguard data.
  • Manage compliance settings, including data loss prevention (DLP), retention policies, and eDiscovery, while also regularly reviewing and auditing Office 365 security and compliance configurations to uphold the highest standards of data integrity and privacy.
  • Administer Exchange Online, overseeing mailbox migrations, establishing mail flow rules, and ensuring the effectiveness of email security features, including anti-spam and anti-malware settings, alongside configuring, and maintaining email archiving and retention policies.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Teams settings for meetings, live events, and calling policies, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Provide advanced level support for complex issues beyond the scope of the first-line support team, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive documentation on Office 365 procedures, configurations, and best practices to support the organization's knowledge base.
  • Develop and enforce organizational policies for the use of Office 365 services, working closely with various departments to ensure governance aligns with business needs and compliance requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree in computer science or in a field related to the position.

 

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Proven experience managing Office 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for Office 365 administration tasks.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including synchronization services.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 security and compliance features, including DLP (Data Loss Prevention), ATP (Advanced Threat Protection), and eDiscovery.
  • Experience with email migration and hybrid configurations.
  • Strong analytical skills, and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and to collaborate effectively with other IT and business teams.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

 

ASSETS:

  • Familiarity with Distributed File System (DFS), proficiency in cloud-based technologies, security certificate like SC-400 (Microsoft Information Protection Administrator) and MS-500 (Microsoft 365 Security Administration).
  • Equivalent work experience with a school board or in the education sector.

 

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2120: from $48,689 TO $83,462 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
