SALARY: FROM $46,527 TO $92,027 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

Develop knowledge, skills and the attitudes required to use hygiene, health and safety rules and measures linked to the use of caustic and corrosive products, analyze the scalp and the hair, counsel the customer a style that goes well with their personality, to know techniques involved in hair coloration and to be able to accomplish tasks such as cutting, setting and styling hair, to accomplish complimentary tasks such as trimming and shaving or beards, sideburns and moustaches, to accomplish reception and sales tasks.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French);
  • Experience in adult education, and;
  • Experience in multi-level classes.

ASSETS:

  • Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.
  • Experience in teaching English and French as a second language.
  • Knowledge of the Moodle platform.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $46,527 to $92,027 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
