POSITION: EDUCATION CONSULTANT – VOCATIONAL TRAINING

SALARY: FROM $49,456 TO $87,626 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Adult Education and Vocational Training, the Education Consultation is responsible for the organization of training activities in Nunavik and handles the various files assigned.

  • Provide pedagogical support to teachers across numerous programs.
  • Support teachers with respect to course management, pedagogical strategies, module planning, evaluation tools and techniques, and provide them with the necessary materials.
  • Plan and supervise internships in the workplace.
  • Organize training activities for teachers.
  • Conduct research and stay up to date on news related to vocational training.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of concomitant essential knowledge.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the immediate superior.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, in particular education or adult education.

 The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be fluent in at least two (2) of the three (3) working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, English or French).
  • At least five (5) years vocational training experience.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in French and English, and knowledge of the MEQ's approach to vocational training programs.
  • Northern experience is considered an asset.

 

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: from $49,456 TO $87,626 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
