Under the authority of the Human Resources Branch, the position of Assistant Director of Services includes the performance of all management functions (planning, organization, management, control, evaluation), and a context of hypergrowth and staff shortage.
This job mainly involves the following responsibilities:
Participate in the development of the directions and strategies of the Commission scolaire de Laval regarding the human resources programs for which it is responsible and, where appropriate, collaborate in the determination of action plans;
Assume records management related to personnel movement, job postings, seniority establishment, management of recall and priority lists, etc .;
Ensure the smooth running of assignments and transfers processes, in collaboration with union bodies, while promoting the maintenance of a harmonious labor relations climate;
Participate in the development and implementation of an integrated staffing structure;
Ensure a fair and rigorous application of staffing processes;
Manage the team under his responsibility to accompany them. Mobilize and promote their commitment and their professional development (management of a team of more than 10 people);
Assist and advise the director of the department and senior management as well as institutional managers on the sector's activities;
Develop and implement human resource management tools tailored to the needs of institutions and other administrative units;
Assume responsibility for the management of the locum and ensure the establishment of effective management in a context of shortage;
Represent the Human Resources Department or the Laval School Board, if applicable;
Assume allother mandates or responsibilities entrusted to it, in connection with the operations of the Human Resources Service. In addition, depending on organizational needs, some files may change from one year to the next.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of study or hold a senior executive or executive position, with the exception of the position of manager;
Six (6) years of relevant experience;
Have experience in managing human resources in the school environment and belong to a professional association are assets;
Knowledge of collective agreements an asset.
Knowledge of the various dimensions of human resources functions;
Strong computer skills applied to human resources management (Pay-HRM, MS Office Suite);
Demonstrated skills in implementing programs and mobilizing staff;
Excellent organizational and planning skills and a strong focus on customer service.
