Main Responsibilities
Under the authority of the Director General, the Primary School Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the pedagogical, educational and administrative activities of all its levels of instruction with a view to the success of all students, in accordance with the Private Education Act and the responsibilities defined by Vanguard School.
Among the responsibilities…
• See to the implementation of the orientations and ensure the implementation of the strategic planning in its sector;
• Be the bearer of one of the management files (one of the strategic orientations or others);
• Mobilize, support, supervise, and evaluate all staff in their sector
• Manage individual and team contributions and the development of professional skills;
• Ensure the quality and validity of intervention plans for all students in their sector;
• In conjunction with Educational Services, supervise, apply, analyze, and regulate the methods of targeted educational application (teaching methods, standards and evaluation methods, program application, etc.);
• Work closely with other members of Vanguard management to continuously improve the environment;
• Promote consultation between parents, students, and staff members as well as their participation in school life and student success;
• Manage the files of students demonstrating recurring and/or severe functioning difficulties;
• Participate in the recruitment of school staff;
• Support emerging projects in their sector;
• Ensure the representation of the primary sector within the school and on various committees, in order to ensure consistency and continuity of actions and practices between sectors and levels of education.
Requirements
• Hold an undergraduate university degree and the legal qualification to teach in Quebec (teaching certificate required, in special education, special education: an asset);
• Hold a graduate degree in educational management or school administration (or a minimum of 6 credits completed and a commitment to finalize within 5 years of taking up the position);
• Have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience;
• Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in school administration: an asset;
• Have an excellent command of French, spoken and written, and a good knowledge of English, spoken and written;
• Know the main legal frameworks that guide our actions in schools and know how to ensure their application;
• Know the main stages of managing Human Resources and Financial Resources and know how to monitor them;
• Know the main stages of a change process and know how to lead the entire process;
• Know how to mobilize, collaborate, communicate, carry a vision, support, supervise, plan, analyze, evaluate and regulate;
• Be focused on continuous improvement.

Salary
Compliant with public sector salary scales and in accordance with the School's executive salary policy (Class 8).
