Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Being an educational advisor means supporting the development of effective and innovative teaching practices to promote student success and engagement.

On a daily basis, you provide advice and support to school teams regarding the implementation, development, and evaluation of curricula, classroom management, and pedagogy. You contribute to the professional development of staff and the continuous improvement of teaching practices, taking into account the realities and needs of the environment.

Responsibilities

The educational advisor will be called upon to play a consulting role and support teachers in adult general education centers regarding the implementation, development, and evaluation of curricula, classroom management, and pedagogy, in addition to collaborating with internal and external partners.

More specifically, the person will work on the files of socio-professional integration (SPI) and students with special needs (SSN). The selected individual will be required to travel regularly to professional integration companies in Greater Montreal and to adult education centers of the CSSMB.

Specific tasks:

  • Support center teams in implementing structures that support students with special needs;

  • Participate in the development and deployment of FGA priorities, including training staff members on the implementation of adaptive learning and assessment measures;

  • Participate in the evaluation of adaptive measures requested from the MEQ;

  • The person may be called to participate in school transition processes to recommend corrective measures or improvements to teaching practices.

Requirements

  • Terminal university degree in a field of specialization appropriate to the position, particularly in education;

  • Teaching certificate (an asset);

  • Excellent knowledge of adult general education;

  • Experience with vulnerable clientele with special needs (an asset).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software and digital pedagogical tools (an asset);

  • Proof of success in the French test SEL or CÉFRANC or TECFÉE or the CSSMB enhanced French exam within three months of hiring at the latest.
